Marching Band

The LCHS Marching Band, the "Sound of Lakes", is a volunteer extracurricular group that meets during the summer and fall, comprised of any interested 9-12th grade band and percussion students. The marching band performs at all LCHS home football games and has competed all around the state of Illinois, including performances at ISU, NIU, and the University of Illinois winning numerous awards for outstanding performance.

The marching band has several required camps throughout the summer and right before the beginning of the school year that help prepare the ensemble for the competitive marching season - these camps include many fun social activities where younger and older students team up together in sections in get-to-know-you activities, team-building activities, and the Summer Section Olympics. During these camps, students are also continuing to work on refining the show music, stands music (pop), and marching technique.

Marching band meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the fall from 6:00-8:30 PM. Marching Band students often also elect for a P.E. wavier during the marching band season because of the amount of rehearsal time outside of the school day.

Pep Band

The Pep Band is a volunteer extracurricular group that meets during the winter, comprised of any interested 9-12th grade band and percussion students. The pep band performs at a select number of men's and women's basketball games throughout the basketball season.

Pep band rehearses the night of the basketball games, often rehearsing numerous new pop charts to perform at the basketball games.
